Choosing cabinets

Choose a cabinet for the motherboard size, the length of the graphics card and the cooler you plan to fit. Airflow and front panel ports come next.

Motherboard support: The mid-tower cabinets in this range take ATX, Micro ATX and Mini-ITX boards, and some also take E-ATX. A cabinet that takes a larger size also takes the smaller ones.
Card and cooler clearance: Compare the graphics card's length and thickness with the maker's maximum card length for the cabinet, and an air cooler's height with the maximum cooler height. Check both before you buy.
Radiator support: For liquid coolers, check which positions take a 240, 360 or 420 mm radiator, at the front, top or rear. Leave room for the fans, the memory and the top of the board.
Airflow: Cabinets with pre-installed fans give intake and exhaust from the first start, and mesh fronts allow more airflow than solid or glass fronts. Dust filters on the intake positions keep the inside cleaner.
Front ports: Check the front USB and audio ports. A front USB-C port needs a matching header on the motherboard to work.
Drive bays: Most cabinets here have no 5.25 inch bays, so an internal optical drive is not an option. Count the 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch bays against the drives you plan to fit.

Fit motherboard standoffs only at the board's mounting holes. An extra standoff can short the board.
Keep slightly more intake than exhaust airflow, with filters on the intakes, to reduce dust inside the cabinet.
Route cables behind the motherboard tray and tie them clear of the fans and the airflow path.
